Oil paint on stretched canvas. Unframed. Magnolias are amongst the most beautiful flowers to paint and the most difficult to arrange. I was inspired by their fleshy translucent petals and lovely cupped form. I added some Viburnum and Azaleas for support and some Dutch Iris for vertical accent and a touch of blue.
